A pedestal bowl crafted from heavy lead crystal, cased with a layer of ruby-red glass that has been cut back to reveal the clear crystal beneath. The decorative scheme features a band of oval thumbprints at the rim, situated above large circular punty cuts. Within these circular sections is a finely cut cross-hatched diamond pattern. The lower portion of the bowl is finished with large polished facets that taper towards a short, faceted stem. The circular base is decorated on the underside with a multi-pointed radial starburst cut. The underside of the foot bears a partially indistinct acid-etched mark, appearing as fragmented stippled characters over several lines.
Condition report:
The piece is in good condition with no major chips, cracks, or repairs observed. There is expected light surface wear and scratching to the underside of the foot, consistent with age and use.
