A collection of British coinage from the 19th and 20th centuries, presented in a circular blue metal tin. The assortment comprises various denominations including half crowns, shillings, sixpences, pennies, and halfpennies, alongside a 10 new pence piece. Obverse designs feature the portraits of Queen Victoria (young head), King George VI, and Queen Elizabeth II. Legends include ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA F. D. and VICTORIA D: G: BRITT: REG: F: D:. Reverse designs include the Golden Hind ship on the halfpenny, seated Britannia on the penny, and a heraldic shield on the half crown. Legible dates include 1883, 1939, 1961, 1962, 1963, and 1967. The pieces are composed of bronze and cupro-nickel.
Condition report:
The coins display varied states of preservation ranging from good to fine. Earlier issues, particularly the Victorian penny, show significant circulation wear and smoothed details. Toning, surface darkening, and instances of green verdigris are present throughout the collection. Some of the later 1960s issues retain partial original mint luster. The metal storage tin shows minor surface wear and scratches.
