The reverse features the heraldic lion rampant within a double tressure flory counter-flory, part of the heraldic series representing Scotland, designed by Norman Sillman. The obverse depicts the third portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Raphael Maklouf. The coin is struck in .925 sterling silver with a proof finish. It is housed in a clear protective acrylic capsule and presented in its original Royal Mint blue textured leatherette presentation case. The interior lid is lined with cream fabric and printed with the Royal Mint coat of arms and name.
