A trio of commemorative coin first day covers issued by the Isle of Man in 2001 to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s Golden Jubilee (1952-2002). Each cover features a cachet illustration by artist Michael Noakes, P.P.R.O.I., R.P., from the series ‘The Daily Life of The Queen: An Artist’s Diary’, written by Vivien Noakes. The covers are inset with commemorative jubilee coins and franked with corresponding Isle of Man postage stamps, including a visible 40p denomination depicting royal scenes. Each cover is cancelled with a special circular date stamp (CDS) from Douglas, Isle of Man, dated 29/10/01, specifically marking ‘100 days’ until the jubilee event. The covers include printed serial numbers and are inscribed ‘HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN’S Golden Jubilee’ and ‘COIN FIRST DAY COVER’.
