A collection of vintage household and decorative objects, featuring a set of traditional Salter Staffordshire balance scales. The scales are constructed with a black-painted cast iron base and a polished brass pan. The base is fitted with an oval black and gold plaque inscribed THE SALTER STAFFORDSHIRE alongside a Stafford knot emblem. The lot includes an accompanying graduated set of weights in both cast iron and brass. Also included is a group of decorative ceramic items comprising two handled pottery baskets, one finished in a neutral satin glaze and the other with a brown basketweave textured surface. The collection is completed by a miniature cream pitcher with painted wheat and floral decoration, a brown-glazed monk character jug, and a bell-shaped ceramic miniature bottle with a label for BELLS Blended Scotch Whisky.
Condition report:
The items are in good vintage condition with evidence of age and use. The cast iron scale base shows surface wear, minor paint loss, and areas of light oxidation. The brass pan exhibits surface scratching and tarnish. Ceramic items appear largely free of significant damage, though minor surface wear and manufacturing imperfections may be present.
