A collection of miscellaneous coinage contained within a vintage red-enamelled metal Oxo advertising tin. The numismatic contents comprise predominantly British pre-decimal and decimal issues, including bronze pennies from the reigns of Queen Victoria, King George V, and Queen Elizabeth II, including a 1967 specimen. The group further includes bronze halfpennies, dodecagonal nickel-brass threepenny bits, and various cupro-nickel or silver denominations such as shillings and sixpences. International issues are represented, notably an Irish penny dated 1961 featuring a harp and an Italian Repubblica Italiana coin. The rectangular tin displays the Oxo brand logo with advertising slogans for meatier meals, perfect gravy, and an appetising beverage, and bears a royal warrant transcription for the late King George VI.
Condition report:
The coins are in mixed circulated condition, exhibiting varying degrees of wear, surface marks, oxidation, and toning commensurate with age and use. The metal tin shows signs of age-related wear, including surface scratches, minor indentations, and areas of localized enamel loss.
