Buyer's Premium:

A multi-volume set of Purnell’s History of the Second World War part-work magazines, presented in the publisher’s black cloth-covered binders. Each binder features large, gold-toned block lettering to the front cover. The contents consist of the weekly magazine series edited by Barrie Pitt and Sir Basil Liddell Hart, organized into a comprehensive historical record. The internal pages are printed in a multi-column format and are heavily illustrated with black and white historical photographs, cartographic maps, and technical diagrams. One volume is displayed open to a page showing a large-scale photograph of a rock face with wartime graffiti reading SEE GERMAN AND DIE. The volumes are folio-sized and were produced as a serialised publication in the United Kingdom during the late 1960s.

Condition report:

The collection shows signs of age and handling consistent with use. The black cloth binders exhibit shelf wear, including bumped corners, rubbing to the edges, and some surface scuffing. The gold-toned lettering remains largely legible but shows minor dulling in places. Internally, the pages show characteristic age-toning, particularly towards the margins. There are occasional small nicks or creases to the page edges. The binding mechanisms appear functional, though some volumes show slight looseness.
