This lot comprises an assortment of ceramics and a piece of natural stone, featuring various styles from transferware to studio pottery. Included is a large circular earthenware charger with a sepia transfer-printed rural landscape and a foliate-patterned scalloped rim. A lidded serving dish is present, consisting of a white lid decorated with a fruit pattern including peaches and blackberries, set atop a separate deep red glazed dish with gilt-effect loop handles. A decorative cabinet plate features a broad cobalt blue border with gilt foliate and scroll detailing around a central river landscape reserve. The collection further includes a shallow stoneware studio pottery bowl with a hand-painted green and brown central swirl and concentric ribbing, and a small souvenir plate printed with a map of the English Lake District, marked LAKES within a red banner. Two white porcelain teacups with gilt-lined rims and a rectangular piece of black slate complete the lot.
Condition report:
The items are in varied condition. The large transferware plate displays visible crazing across its surface. General surface dust and light wear consistent with age and use are evident throughout the collection. The fruit-patterned lid and red glazed dish appear to be a mismatched set. No significant chips or cracks are immediately apparent from the overview, but a physical inspection is recommended.
