Description
A hand-carved wooden figure of a reclining dog, stylistically resembling a basset hound or bloodhound. The figure is carved from a single block of wood, displaying a visible natural grain throughout. It is depicted in a resting pose with the head positioned between its front paws, featuring characteristic long, drooping ears. Accents in black paint define the ears, eyes, nose, and paws. No maker’s marks are visible on the exterior surfaces.

Condition report:
The item shows age-related wear including scuffing and paint loss to the ears, nose, and paws. There is a lighter area of wear on the front of the snout and various small surface marks and abrasions consistent with age and handling.
