Lot 8:
Description
This decorative lot comprises an earthenware amphora-style vase presented on a simple black-painted metal tripod stand. The vessel is wheel-thrown, showing faint concentric ridges, and features a coarse, granular texture with a matte, unglazed buff-coloured finish. It is designed in a traditional Mediterranean style with an ovoid body, two loop handles, and a tapering pointed base. The surface displays a rustic, weathered aesthetic with intentional areas of darker circular discoloration. The vase is filled with a tall arrangement of dried and artificial botanical elements, including a vertical spire of deep red flowers, yellow and orange papery blossoms, and various large seed pods and dried leaf husks. No maker’s marks or stamps are visible on the exterior of the vessel.
Condition report:
The ceramic vessel and metal stand appear to be in good condition. The surface of the earthenware shows staining and colour variations consistent with its intended rustic design. There are no significant chips, cracks, or visible repairs to the main body of the vase. The dried floral arrangement appears stable and intact.
