Description
A mid-20th-century large-format textured lithographic print on board depicting members of the Household Cavalry on horseback. The scene is set in central London, featuring the Victoria Memorial and the facade of Buckingham Palace in the background, rendered in a semi-abstracted style with characteristic horizontal linear banding and a muted colour palette. The work is presented in its original broad off-white wooden frame with a gilded inner slip. A paper label on the verso identifies the title as HOUSEHOLD CAVALRY and the artist as MASON, with the retailer and framer listed as Messrs Ward Bros., Ltd., Waterdale, Doncaster. The label also includes the JR logo for the publisher J.H. Robinson Ltd., order number 13842, and the reference 311/69.
