Description
An assortment of contemporary military badges, pins, and commemorative coins. The collection includes British Army insignia such as a bi-metal Royal Corps of Signals cap badge featuring the figure of Mercury, and a corresponding gold-tone plaque with the corps motto Certa Cito. Also present are two Royal Logistic Corps (RLC) stay-brite badges of varying sizes, displaying the Garter motto Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense and the regimental motto We Sustain. The commemorative items feature a 100th anniversary coin for RAF Digby dated 28 March 1918, inscribed with Icarus Renatus, and a large multi-coloured tri-national coin representing the United Kingdom, United States, and Canada, featuring a biplane and the opening lines of the poem High Flight. United States military insignia includes a silver-tone parachutist badge and a pair of bronze-tone senior pilot wings. Additional pieces comprise a Combined Endeavor 2000 lapel pin, a Canadian flag pin, and a small circular enamel badge. Construction materials include anodised aluminium, die-struck base metals, and enamel.
Condition report:
The items are in good overall condition with evidence of light surface wear and minor patination. The challenge coins and one small badge are preserved within plastic sleeves. No significant damage or repairs are visible.
