Description
A lot comprising two decorative advertising wall mirrors with maritime and riverine themes, likely late 20th-century decorative reproductions. The first mirror features the Oriental Steam Navigation Company, depicting a three-masted steam-assisted sailing vessel under sail, flanked by two compass roses with a decorative scrollwork border and the company name on a central banner. It is housed in a dark-stained wood frame with a simple moulded profile. The second mirror depicts the Louisiana Steamboat Company, featuring a paddle-steamer riverboat and text stating the company was founded in 1888. It lists several port names including St. Louis, Memphis, Greenville, Natchez, Baton Rouge, and New Orleans, and is set in a light-coloured wood frame.

Condition report:
The Oriental Steam Navigation Company mirror plate shows significant signs of age, including widespread foxing, spotting, and loss of silvering throughout the central plate, particularly towards the bottom and edges. The Louisiana Steamboat Company mirror is in generally good condition with minor spotting and light foxing along the lower edge. Both frames exhibit light surface wear consistent with use.
