Description
A 925 silver pendant necklace featuring a large Derbyshire Blue John specimen stone. The rectangular cushion-cut stone displays the characteristic translucent yellowish-brown hues and dark purple-black banding typical of fluorite sourced from the Castleton area. The stone is bezel-set within a 925 silver frame featuring a decorative twisted rope-style border and is suspended from a polished, tapering silver bail. The pendant is presented on a substantial woven silver chain of Spiga or wheat link construction, secured with a lobster claw clasp. A small metal tag near the clasp is marked 925.
Pendant length: approximately 3.5cm (excluding bail).
Condition report:
The item is in good pre-owned condition with minor surface wear and light tarnishing consistent with age and use. The stone is secure in its setting and the clasp is in good working order.
