Description
A collection of miniature glazed ceramic animal figurines produced by Wade Ceramics in England. This group includes a diverse range of animals from the popular Whimsies and Red Rose Tea series. The lot is anchored by a large tortoise with a detailed, segmented shell in various brown and grey glazes. The assortment features mammals including a cow, lion, squirrel, hedgehog, pig, Corgi-style dog, rabbit, koala, bear cub, rhinoceros, bison, and a monkey. Avian figures are represented by a brown owl, a small green owl, and a bird in flight. Marine life is depicted through fish figurines. Each item is constructed from moulded ceramic and finished with a high-gloss, multi-toned glaze. Several pieces bear the embossed Wade England mark on their bases.
Condition report:
The figurines appear to be in good overall condition, with no visible major chips, cracks, or professional restorations. Minor shelf wear may be present on the base of some items. Very fine crazing of the glaze is consistent with the age and material of these collectibles.
