Description
A collection of various fishing reels featuring spinning, spincast, and fly reel designs. Notable items include a tan-finished J.W. Young and Sons The Ambidex casting reel, marked as produced in Redditch, England. Also present is a green-enamelled Johnson Century Model 100B spincast reel and a black Pflueger spincast reel, both manufactured in the USA. Spinning reels in the group include a blue model marked FX 240 Long Cast and a blue Norman Super Carbon S100. The collection also contains a grey circular fly reel marked British Made, a smaller silver-toned ventilated fly reel, and an additional black spinning reel. Construction materials include cast metal housings, composite plastics, and aluminium components.
The ruler indicates the Norman reel measures approximately 10 cm in length.
Overall group occupies an area approximately 30 cm by 25 cm.
Condition report:
The collection shows various degrees of age-related wear. Specific observations include paint loss and scuffing to the tan J.W. Young reel, surface scratches on the green Johnson reel, and general wear to the finishes of the older metallic components. Some reels retain vintage fishing line. Mechanical functionality has not been tested.
