Description
This Gibraltar 2008 One Crown is part of The Elizabethan Era commemorative series and is struck in 925 silver with a proof finish. The obverse features the right-facing portrait of Queen Elizabeth II with the circumscribed legends ELIZABETH II, GIBRALTAR, and the date 2008. The reverse depicts a portrait of Queen Elizabeth I in Tudor costume, set against a background of a coastal fortress and a fleet of ships. The reverse design includes a circular ER monogram and the inscriptions THE ELIZABETHAN ERA and ONE CROWN. The coin is housed in a clear plastic protective capsule.
