Description
A Booths earthenware tea set decorated in the Real Old Willow pattern, pattern number A8025. The set comprises a teapot with a matching domed lid and decorative finial, a creamer, and a selection of teacups and saucers. Each piece is crafted from high-quality earthenware and features a bulbous, lobed form with ornate scrolled handles. The decoration consists of underglaze blue transfer-printed willow pattern motifs, including pagodas, bridges, and trees, which are further detailed with overglaze gilt highlights and gilded rims. The underside of each piece bears the printed blue Booths mark with a crown, “MADE IN ENGLAND”, the pattern title “Real Old Willow”, and the number A8025. A faint, hand-applied mark 778 is also visible on the base.
Teapot height: approximately 18 cm.
Condition report:
The set is in good overall condition. There are no apparent chips, cracks, or signs of restoration. There is some minor, age-related wear to the gilding, particularly on the rims and handles.
