Description
A collection of British and world coins contained within a vintage cylindrical Cadbury’s Roses Chocolate tin. The tin features a blue ground with floral rose illustrations and printed text for Cadbury Bros. Ltd., Bournville, England, with a weight specification of one pound net. The numismatic contents include a variety of British pre-decimal bronze and copper-nickel denominations. Visible specimens include pennies and halfpennies featuring the portraits of Queen Victoria, King George V, and King George VI. International currency includes a West German 1 Deutsche Mark depicting the federal eagle and a French Sower type coin. Condition report:
The tin shows light surface scuffing and minor age-related wear to the exterior and interior. The coins are in mixed circulated condition, exhibiting wear from fine to very fine. Visible characteristics include surface toning, contact marks, and areas of oxidation on the bronze specimens. High-point details on older Victorian and Edwardian pieces show significant smoothing.
