Description

A pair of circular open salt cellars featuring heavy cut glass bodies and hallmarked 925 silver mounts to the rims. The glass is decorated with a deep geometric pattern, consisting of a band of large diamond-shaped facets above a star-cut base. The set is accompanied by two 925 silver salt spoons featuring twisted stems and ball finials. All items are housed in the original fitted presentation case with a blue satin and velvet-lined interior. The interior lid is gold-stamped with the text Hall Marked Silver Made in England. The hallmarks on the silver mounts of the salt cellars correspond to Birmingham, 1916, and include the lion passant symbol for 925 silver. The salt spoons bear hallmarks for London, 1924, also including the lion passant symbol for 925 silver.

Condition report:

The cut glass bodies are clear and free from significant chips, cracks, or clouding. The 925 silver mounts and spoons exhibit natural surface tarnish and light scuffing consistent with age and use. The presentation case shows minor wear to the exterior edges, and the interior lining is intact with light compression marks. The metal clasp is functional.
