Description
A pendant and chain necklace featuring a square cushion cabochon Blue John fluorite stone. The gemstone displays the characteristic translucent pale cream and yellow ground colour intersected by a prominent diagonal band and finer veins of deep purple and black. The stone is bezel-set in a silver mount with a tapered bail, suspended from a long woven wheat or spiga style chain. Small impressed marks are present on the interior of the bail and the jump ring, though they are not clearly legible.
Condition report:
The item is in good overall condition. The Blue John cabochon shows no visible chips or cracks. The silver setting and chain exhibit minor surface wear and light scratches consistent with age and use.
