Description
A pair of naturalist figurines depicting yellow Labrador Retriever puppies. The first figure is shown in a sitting position, scratching behind its ear with a hind leg and wearing a fixed red collar. The second figure is depicted in a recumbent pose with its head resting on its paws. Both items are constructed from a cast resin or composite material with a heavily textured surface designed to simulate fur. The eyes are inset with a glossy finish, while the noses and paw pads feature hand-painted details. The poses and finish are characteristic of sculptures produced by Sandicast, although no maker’s marks are visible on the exterior surfaces.
Sitting puppy height: 21 cm
Lying puppy length: 32 cm.
Condition report:
The figurines are in generally good condition. The lying puppy exhibits minor surface scuffing and paint loss to the tip of the nose. There is a small chip or area of wear to the tip of the tail on the lying puppy. No other cracks, major chips, or repairs are evident.
