Description

A pair of mid-20th-century novelty ceramic figurines featuring anthropomorphic pigs. The first figure depicts a standing pig musician dressed in a black tuxedo jacket, green waistcoat, and red bow tie, positioned on a circular pink base while playing a yellow horn. The second item is a figural planter or spill vase featuring a pig couple seated on a white bench. The male pig is attired in a lavender-grey suit with a red bow tie, and the female pig wears a white blouse and pink skirt. The bench section is hollowed to the rear for use as a small vessel. Both pieces are constructed from glazed ceramic with hand-painted decorative details. No manufacturer marks or backstamps are present.

Condition report:

The musician figurine is in good overall condition with minor surface wear consistent with age. The pig couple planter exhibits a visible hairline crack or old repair to the upper left rim of the vessel section. General surface scuffing and minor paint loss are evident on both pieces, particularly on the ears and base areas.
