Lot 283:
Description
A pair of 20th-century leaded stained glass panels, likely originally intended for use in a cabinet or door. Each panel features a central stylised tulip motif composed of red and orange streaked glass with deep blue accents. The motif is set against a background of amber-tinted, hammered-texture cathedral glass. The panels are secured within simple rectangular oak frames. The construction follows traditional leaded techniques with various textured and coloured glass segments. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the glass or the wooden frames. These panels are characteristic of British residential glass from the late Victorian or Edwardian periods, circa 1900 to 1915.
Height: 61.5 cm
Width: 30.5 cm per panel.
Condition report:
The glass panels are in good structural condition with no apparent cracks or missing segments. The lead cames show a natural aged patina and appear stable. The oak frames exhibit signs of wear, including surface scratches, scuffs, and some finish loss, consistent with age and previous installation. Some surface dust and grime are present.
