Description
An Australian dodecagonal 50-cent coin struck in cupro-nickel. The obverse features the Arnold Machin effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, with the circumscribed legend ELIZABETH II to the left and AUSTRALIA 1984 to the right. The reverse depicts the Australian Commonwealth Coat of Arms featuring a central shield supported by a kangaroo and an emu, with the numeral 50 at the base against a background of stylised floral sprays. The coin has a plain edge. Mintage for this date was approximately 25.7 million pieces.
