Description
A mid-century square-form ashtray carved from a solid block of banded onyx. The stone displays natural translucent cream, honey, and amber-toned wavy and concentric figure throughout. The design features a shallow circular centre well with four integral rests carved into the corners. The stone has been polished to a smooth finish to highlight the natural geological patterns. No maker’s marks or signatures are present.
Condition report:
The ashtray is in generally good condition. Minor nibbles and small chips are visible along the sharp upper edges and corners, consistent with age and handling.
