Lot 124:
Description
A lot consisting of two decorative pieces. The first is a novelty plush teddy bear with synthetic brown fur, dressed in a country-style outfit featuring a red and white gingham dress under a cream-coloured pinafore with two wooden buttons. The bear is accompanied by various shopping-themed accessories, including two miniature brown paper bags with cord handles, a small woven straw-effect bag, and a pink and white striped fabric bag. A black rectangular sign suspended from the neck is printed with the text SHOPPING MAKES ME POOR. The second item is a stylized figurine of a grazing sheep or lamb, constructed from cast resin or a similar composite material. The surface is heavily textured to simulate wool and finished in a weathered off-white and grey colour palette. The items are designed in a folk-art style resembling the work of Boyds Bears and Friends. No manufacturer marks are visible on either item.
Condition report:
Both items appear to be in good overall condition. The plush bear and its fabric clothing show no significant wear, staining, or loss of fur. The resin sheep figurine is free from visible chips, cracks, or repairs. The weathered finish and rough texture are integral to the design.
