Description

A late 19th-century Vienna-style regulator wall clock featuring a walnut case. The rectangular case is designed with a flat pediment over a glazed door, which is flanked by twin fluted columns with carved foliate capitals and bases. The lower section of the case terminates in a tapered, turned bottom finial. The clock has a white dial with black Roman numeral hour markers and ornate fleur-de-lis motifs. The centre of the dial features a chased brass boss with an embossed floral pattern and two winding apertures, indicating a spring-driven striking movement. It is fitted with ornate black metal hands. Visible through the glazed door is a large circular brass-faced pendulum bob. A printed beat scale is located at the bottom of the case interior. While similar in form to examples by the Hamburg American Company (H.A.C.) or Junghans, no maker’s marks are present on the dial or movement exterior.

Height: 81 cm.

Condition report:

The walnut case shows surface wear, minor scuffs, and age-related patina consistent with use. There is a visible area of chipping to the dial at the 6 o\'clock position. The movement is untested and its working order is not guaranteed.
