Description
A rectangular hinged box constructed from 925 silver, featuring ornate repoussé decoration throughout. The lid is centred with a polished oval cartouche, which is framed by a dense floral and foliate wreath and enclosed within a gadrooned border. The four corners of the lid are further embellished with floral sprays. The sides of the box exhibit a continuous gadrooned pattern. The interior shows a uniform metallic finish. The decorative style and motifs are consistent with patterns produced by silversmiths such as Hazorfim and Hadad Bros, although no definitive maker marks are legible. Small indentations are visible within the central oval cartouche.
Length: approximately 8 cm.
Condition report:
The box is in good overall condition, exhibiting minor surface wear and light scratches consistent with age and use. The hinge is intact and the lid remains functional. No significant indentations, splits, or signs of previous repair are observed.
