2nd Chance Short Auction
Lot 140:
Description
A late Victorian or Edwardian style fender stool of rectangular form, constructed from dark-stained oak. The stool features a tan leather upholstered top, secured to the frame by a decorative border of brass-headed upholstery studs. The piece is supported on four short block feet, each fitted with a small metal swivel castor. The underside reveals the wooden frame construction with no visible maker’s marks, although a small white adhesive label with the numbers 9, 7, 8 is present on the front rail.
Length: 60 cm.
Condition report:
The leather upholstery displays significant surface wear, including prominent scuffing and loss of finish, particularly along the front edge. The oak frame shows minor age-related knocks, scratches, and wear consistent with use.
