Description
A pair of mid-century ceramic chalice-form vases produced by Il Verrocchio in Florence, Italy. Each vessel features a deep oxblood red high-gloss glaze. The body is decorated with a wide central band of repeating stylised geometric motifs in gilt and black. The flared rims and circular pedestal bases are finished with gilt borders. The underside of each base bears a circular white stamp with the text Il Verrocchio . italy . florence surrounding a stylised logo of the letter M with a small animal figure.
Condition report:
The items are in good overall condition with no visible chips, cracks, or restorations. There is minor shelf wear to the unglazed foot rims consistent with age and use. The gilding and painted decoration remain bright and largely intact.
