Lot 70:
Description
A group of two silver-plated metal items dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. The first item is an ornate three-tine serving fork, of a form typically used for pickles, featuring a highly decorative pierced head with elaborate scrollwork and a central floral motif. The fork is constructed with a partially twisted shaft and a tapered handle finished with an engraved terminal cartouche. The second item is a spherical dual-purpose condiment dispenser mounted on a circular pedestal base. This item features two separate internal reservoirs with distinct spouts: one perforated for shaking and the other with a single aperture for pouring. The base of the dispenser is stamped with the inscription PRO. PAT. 301.
Condition report:
Both items show signs of age and use including tarnish and surface scratches. The condiment dispenser exhibits visible wear to the silver plating, revealing the base metal beneath.
