Description

A collection of commemorative coins and medallions struck in 925 silver, primarily issued to celebrate the life and milestones of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. The group features various denominations and international issuers, including a Gambia 20 Dalasis coin dated 1936 commemorating the Year of the Three Kings, a UK 50 Pence dated 1995, and a Western Samoa £5 Lima Tala commemorating the 1945 V.E. Day celebrations. One piece from the 1998 Gemstones of the African Continent series features an inset sapphire. Inscriptions across the collection include Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, H.M. King George VI 1936-1952, 40th Anniversary of the Accession 1952-1992, and The Lady of the Century. The items are housed in individual clear plastic protective capsules and presented in a blue velvet-lined display tray. These coins were issued as limited commemorative releases by various mints, including the Royal Mint, to mark significant royal anniversaries and milestones.
