Description
A collection of approximately 30-40 assorted 12-inch vinyl LP records, primarily featuring pop, easy listening, soundtrack, and rock and roll genres from the mid-20th century. The collection is housed in a black leatherette carrying case with two gold-tone metal flip-lock fasteners. Notable items include Elton John’s Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, a 1973 double LP in a gatefold sleeve with artwork credited to Ian Beck. Other records include The Sound of Music Original Soundtrack Recording on the RCA Victor label, Elvis Presley’s 40 Greatest Hits on RCA, Klaus Wunderlich’s The Entertainer, and Apollo 100’s Telstar – 20 Pop Classics on the Music for Pleasure (mfp) label. The lot also contains Bill Haley and His Comets’ Rock n Roll Stage Show on the Brunswick label, Johnny Cash’s 18 Greatest Hits, BBC TV’s Best of… Super Beeeb Vol. 1, and James Galway and Henry Mancini’s In the Pink on the RCA Red Seal label. Several pressings are identified as UK-market releases consistent with the Music for Pleasure and BBC labels.
Condition report:
The records are in used vintage condition. The outer sleeves show various signs of age-related wear, including corner bumping, edge scuffing, ring wear, and minor surface soiling or foxing. The gatefold sleeve for Elton John\'s Goodbye Yellow Brick Road shows notable creasing and wear to the edges. The vinyl discs have not been individually inspected for surface condition or playability. The carrying case is in functional condition with some external scuffing and minor oxidation to the metal hardware.
