Lot 186:
Description
A pair of jewellery items in the Navajo style, comprising a cluster brooch and a statement ring. The brooch is designed as a circular concho featuring a central oval turquoise cabochon, which appears to be natural, surrounded by nine pear-shaped turquoise cabochons. These stones are secured in saw-tooth bezel settings and accented by silver beads. The piece is finished with a scalloped border featuring stamped floral motifs. The ring features a large, elongated turquoise cabochon with a visible matrix, set in a bezel frame with a rope-twist border and a triple-split shank. The metal on both items is unmarked and appears to be silver.
Condition report:
Both items exhibit significant dark patina and tarnish consistent with age. The turquoise stones show natural matrix and minor surface wear but appear secure in their settings. No hallmarks or maker\'s marks are visible.
