Description
A trio of carved wooden animal figurines comprising two owls and a cat. The largest item is a stylised owl figure carved from a single piece of timber, featuring a whitewashed finish and a naturalistic log base with bark intact. This item is characteristic of chainsaw folk art. Also included is a smaller polychrome painted wooden owl perched on a branch, decorated in shades of brown, green, and red, and a carved wooden cat figure depicted wearing a red bowtie. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible on the exterior surfaces of the items.
Large owl: 10 inches height
Small owl: 5 inches height
Cat: 4.5 inches height.
Condition report:
The group appears to be in overall good condition. The large owl exhibits some natural drying cracks or shakes inherent to the timber. Minor surface wear and light scuffs are present on the smaller owl and cat figurine, consistent with age and handling.
