A mid-20th century street and dock guide map titled Burrow’s Pointer Guide Map of Liverpool, Fourth Edition. The publication was produced by Ed. J. Burrow and Co. Ltd. of Cheltenham and London with the official approval of the Liverpool City Council. The front cover is printed in an orange, black, and white colour scheme and features the Liverpool city coat of arms. The interior contains a folding black and white street map showing the city centre and the River Mersey docks, including landmarks such as Lime Street Station and various named docks including Sandon, Wellington, and Bramley Moore. The guide includes period advertisements for the Penmaenmawr Group and the Royal Insurance Company Limited. The front cover bears a printed price of 4/-.

Condition report:

The item is in poor to fair condition. The paper covers exhibit heavy wear to the edges with fraying, small tears, and areas of loss, particularly along the spine and top-left corner. There is significant foxing, staining, and overall discolouration to the paper. A small hole is punched through the right-hand margin. The interior paper is brittle and yellowed with age, showing significant fraying and chipping along the top and bottom edges of the map pages. Creasing and light foxing are present throughout.
