Description
wooden figure of an anthropomorphic pig in the French folk art style, depicted in a standing posture with legs crossed and hands positioned behind the back. The figure is finished with polychrome paint and stain, allowing the natural wood grain to remain visible across the body and base. The pig is dressed in formal attire consisting of a red frock-style jacket with green lapels and white buttons, a white cravat, green trousers, and white shoes with black soles. The head features an open mouth and carved facial details. The figure is mounted on an integral circular wooden base.
Height: approximately 28 cm.
Condition report:
Vertical crack to the left side of the face extending from above the eye through the cheek. Smaller crack to the right cheek. General surface wear including scuffing and small chips to the paint, notably on the jacket, hands, and base edges. Small circular indentation to the green jacket trim below the cravat. Minor nicks and edge wear to the integral wooden base.
