Description
A pair of decorative bookends featuring sliced and polished Madagascar Perisphinctes ammonite fossils mounted on L-shaped dark-stained wooden bases. Each bookend showcases a half-section of a fossilised ammonite, with the interior face polished to reveal the internal chamber structures and calcified mineralisation. The reverse of each fossil displays the natural ribbed exterior of the shell. A small white adhesive label with the printed number 946 is present on one of the wooden uprights.

Condition report:
The items are in good vintage condition, exhibiting minor surface wear and small scuffs on the wooden bases consistent with age and typical use.
