Description
A pair of cast metal door knockers. The first is a vintage brass door knocker of a 16th Century Galleon, featuring a high-relief depiction of a sailing ship with full sails and a sea-motif base. The base is embossed with the text 16TH CENTURY GALLEON and includes a top mounting hole. The second item is a classical lion mask door knocker with a hinged ring handle, cast in a silver-toned metal. The lion features a traditional mane and is secured with two visible mounting screws.
Condition report:
Both items exhibit signs of age and use consistent with outdoor placement. The galleon knocker shows a surface patina and minor localized oxidation. The lion mask knocker displays significant weathering, surface oxidation, and remnants of previous paint. The mounting screws on the lion mask are heavily rusted.
