Description
A hand-carved wood statue depicting the Laughing Buddha, also known as Budai or Hotei, in a standing pose. The figure is rendered with traditional iconography, including a wide smile, prominent belly, and pendulous earlobes. He wears a mala bead necklace with a central medallion shaped as a square-holed coin. The deity is shown carrying a large sack and a staff over his shoulders, standing upon a rounded base. The piece is crafted from a light-to-medium brown wood with visible grain and natural surface variations in colour.
