Description
A 1918 British silver florin (two-shilling) coin dating from the reign of King George V. The coin is struck in 925 silver. The obverse features a left-facing uncrowned portrait of the King, surrounded by the Latin inscription GEORGIVS V D. G. BRITT: OMN: REX F. D. IND: IMP. The reverse displays four crowned cruciform shields representing England, Scotland, and Ireland, with sceptres in the angles and a central Garter star. The reverse is inscribed with the denomination ONE FLORIN and the date 1918.
Condition report:
The coin is in circulated condition, exhibiting visible wear to the details of the portrait and heraldry. Surface marks, small nicks, and a light patina are present, consistent with age and period of use.
