Description
An antique 925 silver thimble by the maker Henry Williamson Ltd. The piece is designed with a traditional honeycombed or stippled surface to the upper section for needle traction. The base is embellished with an ornate relief-moulded band featuring a repeating floral motif. The lower rim is struck with a series of clear hallmarks including the maker mark H.W. Ld, the Birmingham assay office anchor, the lion passant for sterling silver, and the date letter u for 1919. A circular stamp indicating size 8 is also present.
Condition report:
The item is in good antique condition, showing a dark aged patina. There is light surface wear and minor rubbing to the decorative band consistent with age and use.
