Description
A trio of British commemorative numismatic items including two 1951 Festival of Britain five shilling crowns. These cupro-nickel coins feature the obverse portrait of King George VI inscribed GEORGIVS VI D: G: BR: OMN: REX F: D: and the reverse Saint George and the Dragon design. One example is presented in a plastic sleeve. Accompanying the crowns is a 1935 Silver Jubilee medal for King George V and Queen Mary. The medal obverse shows the conjoined busts of the monarchs, while the reverse features a commemorative text and heraldic shield. The medal retains a metal suspension loop.
Condition report:
The 1951 crowns show minor surface toning and light wear consistent with age. The 1935 medal displays significant surface oxidation, heavy wear to the high points, and general degradation of the metal surface.
