Description
A Caldercraft 1:64 scale wooden model of the 38-gun frigate HMS Diana, originally launched in 1794. The hull is constructed with a white-painted lower section, a natural timber mid-section, and a blue-painted upper strake. The vessel is adorned with gilt-effect carvings at the bow and stern, including a red and gold heraldic crest. The model features a complex network of standing and running rigging across three masts and various spars. Deck details include a ship’s wheel, hatches, fife rails, and red-painted deck fittings. The piece is presented on a tiered wooden display stand.
Condition report:
The model is in good overall condition with the rigging appearing intact and taut. The painted surfaces and gilt-effect details show no significant wear or loss. There is minor dust accumulation consistent with display. No structural damage or missing components were observed.
