Description
A mid-20th century cast brass sculpture depicting a mare and her foal. The stylised composition features a standing mare with her head lowered towards a reclining foal, both positioned on an integral, irregularly shaped base. The piece includes etched linear details to define the manes and tails. There are no visible maker’s marks or inscriptions.
Condition report:
The sculpture displays a naturally aged patina consistent with age. Visible surface wear is present, including dark spotting across the brass and small areas of green verdigris within the recessed details of the manes and base.
