Description
A high-quality facsimile presentation set featuring a reproduction of a sixteenth-century historical document, specifically a letter from the Portuguese Viceroy of India, Dom Duarte de Menezes, to Toyotomi Hideyoshi, dated April 1588. The document is decorated with ornate, hand-coloured-style borders depicting various coats of arms, classical figures, and the seven hills of Rome. It is accented with a decorative red silk tassel. The set includes a descriptive booklet in Portuguese titled A Carta do Vice-Rei D. Duarte de Menezes a Toyotomi Hideyoshi. The collection is housed in a black presentation box embossed with the Portuguese national coat of arms and a repeating monogram pattern.
Condition report:
The set is in very good condition. Minor shelf wear is visible on the external edges and corners of the presentation box. The internal document, tassel, and booklet appear well-preserved.
