Description
A Chinese carved Shoushan stone seal figurine depicting Shoulao, the God of Longevity. The figure is portrayed with a characteristic high forehead and flowing beard, holding a gnarled staff and a peach. The piece is fashioned from a mottled reddish-brown and beige stone with a waxy lustre. The reverse features incised Chinese calligraphy, while the underside is carved with a seal script mark that retains traces of red cinnabar ink.
Condition report:
There is a notable break to the upper portion of the staff held in the figure\'s right hand. The piece exhibits general surface wear, minor chipping, and scratches throughout.
