Description
This natural history specimen comprises several Dactylioceras sp. ammonite fossils embedded within a dark grey sedimentary rock matrix. Dating to the Jurassic period, the specimen features one primary ammonite with a well-defined spiral form and distinct ribbed texture. The matrix also displays a large partial impression and various other fossil fragments and impressions throughout the piece. The sedimentary rock exhibits a natural, irregular, and jagged shape with visible surface texture and minor fracturing consistent with fossil excavation and preparation. The specimen is presented on a clear acrylic display stand.
Condition report:
The specimen is in good natural condition. The matrix exhibits minor fracturing and surface wear consistent with the extraction process. The primary fossilised remains show well-preserved structural detail and ribbing.
