Description
A trio of commemorative philatelic numismatic covers (PNCs) issued by Mercury and The Royal Mint. The first cover, numbered 3518, is a Mercury Schneider Trophy Victory 1931-1996 issue, featuring a Guernsey 1994 D-Day 50th Anniversary miniature sheet and a 1996 R.J. Mitchell commemorative stamp. It is cancelled with a pictorial 65th anniversary postmark dated 13 September 1996 from the Guernsey Post Office and contains an Aircraft of World War II crown. The second cover is a Royal Mint Remembrance issue from 2008, featuring Royal Mail 1st class poppy stamps cancelled 6 November 2008 in London SW1, housing a medallic coin inscribed The Glorious Dead. The third cover, numbered 12581, is a Royal Mint issue commemorating the Territorial Army Centenary (1908-2008), featuring Royal Mail 1st class stamps cancelled 1 April 2008 in Wilton Salisbury, and includes a commemorative coin inscribed Reserve With Pride. All stamps are perforated and the covers are printed on heavy card stock with integrated coin blisters.
Condition report:
The covers are in clean condition with no visible toning, foxing, or significant creasing. Stamps show good centring and are neatly cancelled with specialized pictorial date stamps. The coins are securely housed within their original plastic inserts. Envelopes show only minor signs of handling at the corners.
